Hebe ‘Pretty In Pink’ is a variety of Hebe grown for its form, foliage, and flowers. The glossy, new foliage is burgundy-purple and slowly ages to become dark green. During the cooler months the foliage will also develop purple overtones. The foliage is complemented with clusters of pink flowers borne amidst the foliage during summer, which gradually fade to white. This NZ native grows as a bushy, evergreen shrub to about 50 cm tall and 75 cm wide, growing best on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is hardy to moderate frost, coastal environments, and short periods of dry. Hebe ‘Pretty In Pink’ is a versatile plant that is often used in mixed and border plantings, planted around outdoor living areas, included in rock gardens, maintained in a container, or mass planted on a bank or as a groundcover.
