Hebe Ohau grows as a bushy, evergreen shrub to about 80 cm tall and the same wide. It carries dark green leaves with a purple edge that are held densely off short stems. The foliage is adorned with violet-blue flowers in summer. Hebe Ohau is an ideal plant for mixed and border plantings, maintaining in a container, planting around larger trees, or using in pool and cottage gardens. A mass planting on a bank looks very effective.

The most important part of caring for Hebe Ohau is to make sure they have a well-drained soil that does not become waterlogged at any time.
