This evergreen shrub produces short flower spikes carrying rich purple flowers from spring through autumn. The flowers literally smother the plant and are complemented with glossy, dark green leaves. It grows as an open and spreading shrub to about 70 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. This NZ native is frost hardy and will tolerate coastal conditions, dry periods, and cool climates. Hebe ‘Inspiration’ is ideal for including in a mixed planting, mass planting as a groundcover or on a bank, adding to borders, including in cottage gardens, or planting around outdoor living areas.
