Hebe decumbens is an evergreen shrub that grows to approximately 75 cm in height and 1.5 m in width. The leaves are glossy green and held densely on slender stems, which become adorned with masses of small, white flowers during spring and summer. Hebe decumbens looks most effective when planted in groups. It is also commonly included in mixed plantings, borders, or planted around the base of larger trees.

The most important part of caring for Hebe decumbens is to ensure they have well-drained soil that does not become waterlogged at any time. This, along with over-watering, is the leading cause of plants failing to perform or dying. The plants can be lightly trimmed any time, but this is best undertaken in summer.
