Grevillea lanigera Coastal Gem is a low growing variety of Spider Flower, and is grown for both its fine foliage and unusual flowers. The flowers produced from winter through spring are pink-red and spider like in appearance. The foliage comprises finely textured, green leaves which have a soft appearance. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and 1.5 m wide, and performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is frost hardy and tolerant of dry periods and coastal environments. Grevillea Coastal Gem is commonly used as a groundcover, included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, or mass planted around larger trees and shrubs or on a bank.
