Gardenia taitensis Details

Gardenia taitensis, commonly known as the Tahitian Gardenia, is a large, evergreen shrub with fantastic flowers. This plant produces highly fragrant, single, white flowers through spring and summer. Flowering often continues longer in tropical climates. The flowers contrast perfectly with the glossy, dark green foliage. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is not tolerant of frost and requires shelter from wind. Gardenia taitensis is commonly planted around outdoor living areas, added to a mixed planting, or included in a ‘tropical’ garden.
