Gardenia candida is an evergreen shrub with fantastic flowers. This plant produces single, white flowers through spring and summer, which contrast perfectly with the glossy, dark green foliage. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is not tolerant of frost and requires shelter from wind. Gardenia candida is commonly planted around outdoor living areas, added to a mixed planting, or included in a ‘tropical’ garden.
