Gardenia jasminoides ‘Buttons’, commonly known as Cape Jasmine, is a popular, evergreen shrub featuring exquisite flowers. It produces fragrant, white blooms through late spring and summer, which contrast perfectly with the lush and glossy, dark green foliage. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of light frost only. Gardenia ‘Buttons’ is a versatile plant that looks most impressive when mass planted. It is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted around outdoor living areas, included in tropical or “white” gardens, or maintained in a container.
