Fuchsia 'Princess Kaja'

How to grow Fuchsia 'Princess Kaja' in NZ

Grow Fuchsia 'Princess Kaja' in full sun or partial shade, using fertile soil that retains moisture and drains well. Choose shelter from drying winds, harsh afternoon sun, and heavy frost. Plant at the original depth and water thoroughly. Use a quality potting mix for baskets and containers, with drainage holes. Keep moisture consistent during establishment and flowering. Leave space around the foliage for airflow and mulch garden plants without covering the stems.

Fuchsia 'Princess Kaja' care tips

Care for Fuchsia 'Princess Kaja' by matching moisture and feeding to its growing season. Keep the root zone evenly moist during warm weather, especially in baskets and pots. Feed regularly while growing with a suitable flowering plant fertiliser. Remove spent blooms and seed pods to maintain a tidy display. Trim damaged or tired growth as needed and watch for aphids or whitefly. Protect from heavy frost and reduce watering through cooler winter conditions.

Fuchsia 'Princess Kaja' size, spacing, and growth rate

Fuchsia 'Princess Kaja' typically reaches about 60 cm tall and 60 cm wide under suitable conditions. For individual plants, allow about 60 cm between centres to give the foliage space without excessive crowding. It has a moderate growth rate under suitable conditions. Final size varies with climate, soil, container size, and maintenance. Allow for the expected spread when positioning plants beside paths, walls, or neighbouring specimens. Check the developing plant regularly and adjust nearby planting as its natural form becomes clearer.
