Escallonia ‘White Profusion’ is renowned for its attractive foliage and quaint flowers. Glossy, green leaves contrast beautifully with the clusters of white flowers through spring and summer. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this plant is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site though it is hardy to moderate frost, some wind, and coastal conditions. Escallonia ‘White Profusion’ is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in “white” gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or trimmed into a hedge with plants spaced 50 cm apart. This plant is a fine addition to a NZ garden.
