Escallonia Iveyi White

Escallonia Iveyi White is renowned for both its attractive foliage and quaint flowers. Small and glossy, green leaves give way to clusters of lightly scented, white flowers through spring and summer. It is an easily grown shrub with a bushy habit and typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide and can trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this evergreen is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site though it is hardy to moderate frost and dry periods. Escallonia Iveyi White is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in cottage and “white” gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or trimmed into a hedge with plants spaced 50 cm apart.

Escallonia Iveyi Hedge

An Escallonia Iveyi hedge looks amazing when grown and managed correctly. Start by spacing the plants 40-50 cm apart. This is the optimum spacing for a dense hedge that will grow quickly. As the hedge start to grow opt for a little and often trimming regime. This helps to keep the plants bushy. The best Escallonia Iveyi hedge is achieved by trimming it in spring and again in autumn.
