Erica Winter Fire Details

Erica Winter Fire is a shrub grown for its masses of red-pink flowers from autumn through spring. The showy, tubular flowers hang off the stems like bells and literally transform the plant. The foliage comprises fine, bright green leaves held on upright stems, and provides a lovely backdrop to the flowers. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 75 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will grow well in partial shade but plants will tend to be more open and flowering can be compromised. It is tolerant of moderate frost, dry periods, coastal conditions, and some wind. Erica Winter Fire is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted around outdoor living areas, or used in a cottage garden. The stems are commonly used in flower arrangements.
