Erica Surprise is a variety of Heather that produces masses of small, white flowers from autumn through until spring. The flowers literally coat and transform the plant. The foliage comprises fine, green leaves held off near upright stems. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 75 cm wide, performing best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, short periods of dry, coastal environments, and some shade. Erica Surprise is commonly added to a mixed planting, included in cottage or “white” gardens, grown in a container, or mass planted for a stunning display. The stems are often used in floral arrangements.
