Crinodendron hookerianum, commonly known as the Chile Lantern Tree, is an evergreen shrub grown for its flowers. It produces lantern shaped, crimson red flowers about 2.5 cm long during spring and summer. These hang prolifically above the dark green foliage as it grows to 6 m tall and 3 m wide. Crinodendron hookerianum is commonly used as a feature in a mixed planting, grown as a backdrop for smaller plants, or planted against a bland wall to add depth and colour.
