Corokia Tutti Frutti

Corokia Tutti Frutti is a hardy, NZ native shrub grown for its lovely foliage and interesting form. It grows as a mass of wiry, tangled, silver-grey branches carrying small, multi-coloured foliage. The leaves are a mix of yellow, brown, and red. Small, star like, yellow flowers which are mildly fragrant are produced in summer as it grows to 1.2 m tall and 1 m wide. Corokia Tutti Frutti is commonly used as low to medium sized hedge but also makes a great addition to mixed plantings, or for planting on those difficult to grow sites.

How to grow a Corokia Tutti Frutti hedge

Corokia Tutti Frutti makes for a fabulous hedge and it all begins with getting the correct plant spacing. To achieve a dense hedge quickly, the plants should be spaced 45 cm apart. If you space them wider the hedge will take longer to fill in and become wider overall. The best Corokia Tutti Frutti hedges are lightly trimmed during spring and again in autumn. Be sure to feed them in spring with tree fertiliser to maintain the health and integrity of the hedge.
