Corokia ‘Baby Prince’ is a hardy NZ native shrub grown for its lovely foliage and interesting form. It grows as a mass of wiry, tangled branches carrying small, purple-grey leaves. Small, star like, yellow flowers which are mildly fragrant, are produced in summer. These are followed by small red berries which are great for attracting birds. It typically grows to 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. This hardy plant and can tolerate strong winds, frost, coastal conditions, and dry soils once established. Corokia ‘Baby Prince’ is commonly used as low to medium hedge but is also great for including in mixed plantings, or growing on those difficult to establish areas.
