Cordyline Midnight Star is grown for its dark purple foliage. The gently arching leaves are borne as a crown off a solitary stem and result in a very uniform and showy plant as it grows to 3 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Cordyline Midnight Star makes a lovely specimen and is commonly planted in clusters to give a dramatic display. It is also commonly included in a mixed planting, added to tropical plantings, used to line a driveway, planted against a bland wall or around entranceways, or planted around outdoor living areas.

Cordyline Midnight Star is a variety of the commonly known, Cabbage Tree, and is grown for its dark purple foliage. The gently arching leaves are borne as a crown off a solitary stem and result in a very uniform and showy plant. This NZ native typically grows to 3 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, dry periods, coastal conditions, and cool climates. Cordyline Midnight Star makes a lovely specimen and is commonly planted in clusters to give a dramatic display. It is also commonly included in a mixed planting, added to tropical plantings, used to line a driveway, planted against a bland wall or around entranceways, or planted around outdoor living areas.
