To grow a Coprosma tenuifolia purpureum hedge, the plants should be spaced 60 cm apart. If you desire a dense hedge faster, feel free to space them 40-50 cm apart. If you space them out to 1 m apart, the hedge will take longer to fill in and tend to a lot broader. Trimming should be undertaken during active growth in spring with just the sides trimmed so the plants continue to grow upwards.
