“Scarlett O’Hara” is a NZ native shrub renowned for its colourful foliage. It carries small and glossy, dark red and orange variegated foliage which becomes more intensely coloured as winter sets in. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best when planted in a full sun or partial shade position that is well-drained. This hardy plant will tolerate most soils except extreme wet, dry periods, moderate frost, some wind, cool climates, and coastal conditions. “Scarlett O’Hara” is often used as a hedge, added to mixed plantings, included in coastal gardens, or planted around pool and barbecue areas. It is great for providing lovely colour, particularly through the winter months.
