Coprosma repens ‘Plum Hussey’, commonly known as Mirror Bush or Mirror Plant, is a spectacular variety owing to its colourful and glossy foliage. The leaves are an intense purple colour with a dark green centre, and are held on sturdy, upright branches. The leaf colouring changes in intensity through the different seasons. It typically grows to 1.5 m high and 1 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance and leaf colouring is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, wind, dry periods, and coastal environments. Coprosma ‘Plum Hussey’ is an excellent landscaping plant due to its colour and versatility. It is commonly clipped into a hedge, included in mixed plantings, maintained in a container, planted around pool and barbecue areas, or planted to soften a bland wall. Space plants 50-75 cm apart for hedging.
