Coprosma ‘Lighthouse’ is a spectacular variety owing to its glossy foliage and semi-prostrate growth habit. The small leaves are bright green and held on sturdy branches that grow with a spreading manner. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and 1 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, wind, dry periods, and coastal environments. Coprosma ‘Lighthouse’ is an excellent landscaping plant due to its colour and versatility. It is commonly clipped into a low hedge, included in mixed plantings, maintained in a container, planted around pool and barbecue areas, mass planted on a bank or the like as a groundcover, or planted so it can trail over a wall. Space plants 40-50 cm apart for hedging.
