Coprosma grandifolia (Kanono)

How to grow a Coprosma grandifolia hedge

A Coprosma grandifolia hedge can grow up to 75 cm per year, producing a dense screen quickly. The lush foliage makes it perfect for creating privacy in a garden or at the front of a property. The ideal plant spacing is 75 cm apart, although you can plant at 50 cm apart if you desire the hedge to establish more quickly. Coprosma grandifolia is suitable for both formal and informal hedges. Be sure to trim this fast-growing plant during summer if a formal hedge is required at any height between 1.5 and 3 m tall.

Coprosma grandifolia (Kanono) size, spacing, and growth rate

Coprosma grandifolia (Kanono) develops its mature form gradually, with final dimensions influenced by climate, soil, and maintenance. Space plants to allow the mature foliage to develop without crowding, and leave access for ongoing care. Growth rate varies with seasonal temperatures, available moisture, and the quality of the growing conditions. Use the mature spread as a guide when planting beside paths, walls, or neighbouring plants. Containers can limit overall size, so choose a pot that supports healthy root development. Check the developing plant regularly and adjust surrounding planting as needed.
