Clianthus Kaka King, commonly known as The Red Kaka Beak, is a NZ native shrub that produces a flush of stunning, beak like flowers in summer. The showy, red flowers are produced in abundance and literally transforms the plant. The flowers are complemented with mid-green foliage that is soft in appearance as it grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide. Clianthus Kaka King is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, grown to soften a bland wall, planted around outdoor living areas, maintained in a container, or mass planted for an impressive display.

Clianthus Kaka King Details

Clianthus Kaka King, commonly known as The Red Kaka Beak, is a NZ native shrub that produces a flush of stunning, beak like flowers in summer. The showy, red flowers are produced in abundance and literally transform the plant and are great for attracting birds. The mid-green foliage is soft in appearance and complements the flowers nicely. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of moderate frost and dry periods. Clianthus Kaka King is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, grown to soften a bland wall, planted around outdoor living areas, maintained in a container, or mass planted for an impressive display. It is a low maintenance and forgiving plant that is easy to grow and very rewarding.
