“Sunset” is a variety of the commonly known, Rock Rose, and is grown for its hardy nature and pretty flowers. This evergreen shrub produces single, rose-pink flowers with a yellow centre. The flowers dont last long but are produced en masse from spring through summer and are complemented with lush, green-grey foliage. It typically grows to 70 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of coastal conditions, moderate frost, and extended dry periods though should be protected while it is establishing. “Sunset” is commonly included in a mixed planting or border, planted around outdoor living areas, used in coastal or cottage gardens, or maintained in a container.
