Cistus purpureus, commonly known as the Rockrose Orchid, is grown for its pretty flowers which have a paper like appearance. It bears masses of pink flowers with darker spots from spring through summer above the green foliage. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Cistus purpureus is commonly used to add interest and texture to the garden. It is great for including in a mixed planting, planting as a backdrop for smaller plants, growing around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, including in cottage gardens, or for using in the drier parts of the garden.

Cistus purpureus, commonly known as the Rockrose Orchid, is grown for its pretty flowers which have a paper like appearance. It bears masses of pink flowers with darker spots from spring through summer above the green foliage. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and 1.5 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, though it is tolerant of coastal conditions, moderate frost, and extended dry periods.
