Choisya ‘Aztec Pearl’ is an evergreen shrub grown for its attractive foliage and pleasant flowers. The foliage comprises lush and glossy, dark green leaves which release a mild fragrance when crushed. The foliage is complemented with showy clusters of fragrant, white flowers through spring and summer. It grows compactly with a rounded shape to about 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of dry periods and moderate frost once established. This popular and low maintenance Mexican Orange Blossom is commonly included in mixed plantings and borders, planted around outdoor living areas, grown as an informal hedge, or used to brighten up a bland area. Choisya ‘Aztec Pearl’ also makes for a lovely accent to entranceways and looks amazing in NZ gardens.
