Chaenomeles cathayensis, commonly known as Flowering Quince, is a deciduous shrub grown for its lovely flowers. The small, pink flowers are borne in spring amidst an array of thorny, arching, bare branches. The flowers are followed by ornamental, yet edible fruits that look like small quinces.
