Ceratostigma willmottianum

This spreading, deciduous shrub brings welcome colour to the garden from late summer through early autumn. Masses of disc-shaped, blue flowers lightly coat the plant during this time. They are complemented by purple-margined, deep green leaves which develop crimson tones in autumn. It forms a neat mound as it grows to 90 cm tall and the same wide. It grows best in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. This small shrub is ideal as a border plant or including in mixed plantings.
