Ceanothus Blue Cushion is a popular, evergreen shrub owing to its intense flowering and lovely form. It becomes smothered in showy clusters of lilac blue flowers in spring which are complemented with small, glossy, dark green leaves. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 2 m wide, and is usually trimmed after flowering to help keep the foliage dense. It prefers to grow in a sunny, well-drained, and sheltered position though it is tolerant of some wind, coastal conditions, frost once established, and cool climates. Ceanothus Blue Cushion is a great plant for including in borders and mixed plantings, using in cottage gardens, or planting as a groundcover. It is quite picturesque when allowed to spill out over a path of wall.
