Ceanothus Blue Carpet is a popular, evergreen shrub owing to its intense flowering and lovely form. It becomes smothered in showy clusters of rich blue flowers in summer which are complemented with small, glossy, dark green leaves. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and 1 m wide, and is usually trimmed after flowering to help keep the foliage dense. It prefers to grow in a sunny, well-drained, and sheltered position though it is tolerant of some wind, coastal conditions, frost once established, and cool climates. Ceanothus Blue Carpet is a great plant for including in borders and mixed plantings, using in cottage gardens, or planting as a groundcover. It is quite picturesque when allowed to spill out over a path of wall.
