Carmichaelia appressa Details

Carmichaelia appressa, commonly known as Prostrate Broom, is a fast-growing, NZ native shrub that grows with a prostrate habit to about 70 cm tall and 2 m wide. It carries fine, green leaves held on somewhat wiry stems. During spring and summer, it bears masses of white flowers with purple streaks. This interesting plant grows best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is hardy to frost, dry periods, wind, and coastal conditions. Carmichaelia appressa is commonly used as a groundcover, in rock gardens, or planted along the edges of walls where it can spill over the edge.
