Camellia sasanqua Pure Silk is an evergreen shrub that produces fragrant and showy, white blooms that are edged with soft pink. These spectacular flowers are borne through autumn and contrast nicely with the glossy, dark green foliage. It is relatively compact plant with an upright growth habit and typically reaches 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide, though it can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this variety is achieved when it is positioned in full sun on a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of cool and humid climates as well as moderate frost once established. Camellia sasanqua Pure Silk is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
