Camellia reticulata Alfons is an evergreen shrub that produces masses of showy, double, soft pink flowers. These spectacular blooms appear through spring and are complemented with the glossy, green foliage. It grows relatively compactly to about 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of frost once established as well as cool, and humid climates. Camellia reticulata Alfons is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants. It is also well suited to being maintained in a container on a patio or the like.
