Calocephalus “Silver Nugget” is an unusual yet impressive, small shrub. It features silver-grey, scale like leaves held densely. The foliage becomes adored with small, yellow flowers in summer. It typically grows as a tight mound to about 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, cool climates, coastal environments, and some wind. “Silver Nugget” is commonly included in a mixed or border planting, used to line an entranceway, planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, maintained in a container, used in Mediterranean themed gardens, or planted anywhere this unusual looking plant can be appreciated.
