How to grow Callistemon Summer Days

Callistemon 'Summer Days' (Bottlebrush) is a hardy, evergreen shrub known for its vibrant pinkish-red flowers that attract birds and bees. It thrives best in full sun and well-draining soil. To plant it, choose a location with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place the plant in the hole, backfill with soil, and water thoroughly to settle it. Regular watering is important during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, 'Summer Days' is drought-tolerant but will flower better with occasional deep watering, especially during dry periods. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushiness. Fertilize in spring with a low-phosphorus fertilizer suitable for natives.
