Callistemon pearsonii ‘Rocky Rambler’ is a dwarf variety of the commonly known, Bottlebrush, and is grown for its flowers and short stature. Showy, bright red, bottlebrush-like flowers, which literally coat the plant, are produced from spring through summer, and are great for attracting birds and bees. The flowers are complemented with small and narrow leaves that are mid-green and held somewhat densely. This bottlebrush grows with a rounded shape to about 40 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It tolerates a wide variety of climatic conditions, including frost and coastal environments, as well as most soil types, barring extreme wet or dry. Callistemon ‘Rocky Rambler’ is commonly included in a mixed planting, used in borders and rock gardens, or grown in a container. It also suits being mass planted either as a groundcover or on a bank and looks amazing in both situations. This is a lovely plant that is both easy grow and low maintenance.
