Callistemon citrinus ‘Red Cluster’ is a vigorous, evergreen shrub renowned for its attractive foliage and bottlebrush-like flowers. Masses of the showy, red flowers are borne from spring through autumn and are great for attracting birds and bees. New leaves emerge silver-pink and turn mid-green as they age. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide but is often pruned back to just behind the flowers after flowering. This variety of bottlebrush grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It tolerates a wide variety of climatic conditions, including frost and coastal environments, as well as most soil types, barring extreme wet or dry. This makes it an easy to grow plant which is also low maintenance. Callistemon ‘Red Cluster’ is commonly used for screening and shelter, grown as specimen, included in a mixed planting, or clipped into a hedge. For hedging space plants 50-60 cm apart.
