How to grow Callistemon Candy Pink

To grow Callistemon 'Candy Pink', plant it in a spot that receives full sun and has well-drained soil. This variety is adaptable to different soil types, including sandy, loamy, and even slightly clay soils, as long as they don't stay waterlogged. Before planting, improve the soil with compost or organic matter to promote healthy root development. Water regularly during the first year to establish the plant, then only as needed once mature, as 'Candy Pink' is quite drought-tolerant. After flowering, lightly prune to maintain a compact shape and encourage more blooms the following season. Apply a slow-release, low-phosphorus fertiliser for natives in early spring to boost flowering and overall health. Mulching around the base (keeping mulch clear of the stem) helps conserve moisture and suppress weeds. 'Candy Pink' is hardy against light frost, attracts birds, and adds beautiful soft pink colour to gardens, hedges, or feature plantings.
