Calliandra portoricensis, commonly known as the Powder Puff Bush, is a shrub grown for its interesting flowers and lush foliage. It produces masses of fluffy, white, pom-pom like flowers through spring. The foliage on this evergreen is bright green and held with a somewhat drooping manner as it grows to 5 m tall and 3 m wide. Calliandra portoricensis is commonly grown as a specimen, trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, added to a mixed planting, or planted as a backdrop for smaller plants.
