How to grow Calliandra portoricensis in NZ

Calliandra portoricensis grows best in full sun or partial shade with fertile, well drained soil. Plant in a warm, sheltered position protected from frost and strong winds. Water regularly while establishing and during extended dry periods. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring and summer to encourage vigorous growth and prolific flowering.
