Buxus sinica ‘Insularis’ is a popular Korean Boxwood that forms a beautiful mound of dark green foliage. New foliage is a fresh, lime green and ages to become dark green. The leaves are held densely on short stems as it grows to 60 cm tall and 90 cm wide. This Boxwood performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. It is tolerant of most soil types, except at the extremes of wet and dry, moderate frost, cool climates, and coastal conditions. Buxus ‘Insularis’ is commonly trimmed into a small hedge, planted around the base of trees, added to a mixed planting, or mass planted to provide a soft, carpet like appearance.
