Buxus harlandii is a spectacular variety of the commonly known, Boxwood, and grows to about 1 m tall and the same wide. It has charming, bright green leaves, with a small indentation at the tip that makes it easily identified. Best results with this evergreen shrub are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of most soil types, barring extreme wet and dry, moderate frost, and cool climates. Buxus harlandii is often trimmed into a formal hedge, used for topiary, planted as a screen, grown as a backdrop for smaller plants, or simply included in a mixed planting. For a box hedge space plants 30-40 cm apart.
