Bupleurum fruticosum is an evergreen shrub grown for its glossy foliage and pretty flowers. It carries blue-green leaves which are beautifully complemented with clusters of tiny, yellow flowers from summer through autumn. It typically grows to 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal environments, periods of dry, cool climates, and moderate frost once established. This is a great plant for shelter and screening, particularly when used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
