Brachyglottis Leith Gold is a NZ native shrub that is both hardy and drought tolerant. It has large, grey leaves with a heavy, white felt. From spring through summer, yellow, daisy like flowers cover the plant. This evergreen shrub will grow to about 2 m high and wide, preferring a hot, dry position in full sun to achieve maximum flowering. It is tolerant of coastal environments and frost but not of wet soils. This plant can be trimmed to maintain shape and this should be done after flowering.
