Banksia praemorsa Yellow, commonly known as the Cut-Leaf Banksia or Yellow Banksia, is an upright shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. It produces bright yellow flower spikes up to 30 cm long from winter through until summer which are great for attracting birds. The dark green leaves serve as a pleasant backdrop to the flowers. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide, though can be trimmed as necessary. This evergreen performs best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of coastal environments, dry periods, and frost. This Yellow Banksia is commonly included in mixed plantings, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, planted to attract birds, grown as an informal hedge, planted around outdoor living areas, or used anywhere a hardy and attractive plant is required.
