Banksia Caramel Brown Details

Banksia Caramel Brown is an evergreen shrub that is renowned for its amazing flowers in summer. It produces a cylindrical spike of light brown flowers, upwards of 25 cm long, which age to become caramel brown. These are produced through winter and spring and sit neatly with the dark green foliage. This plant attracts birds which rely on the autumn nectar for food. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best when planted in full sun position on a well-drained site. While it is hardy to moderate frost, dry periods, and coastal environments, some protection while it establishes will produce a much better specimen. Banksia ornata Caramel Brown is a fantastic plant for mixed plantings, coastal gardens, and for bringing both colour and wildlife into the garden.
