Banksia aemula, commonly known as Wallum Banksia, is an evergreen shrub that is renowned for its amazing flowers. It produces a cylindrical spike of cream-coloured flowers, upwards of 30 cm long. These are produced through winter and spring and sit neatly with the mid-green foliage. It typically grows to 5 m tall and 2.5 m wide, through can be contained with trimming as necessary. Banksia aemula is a fantastic plant for mixed plantings, coastal gardens, and for bringing both colour and wildlife into the garden.

Banksia aemula, commonly known as Wallum Banksia, is an evergreen shrub that is renowned for its amazing flowers. It produces a cylindrical spike of cream-coloured flowers, upwards of 30 cm long. These are produced through winter and spring and sit neatly with the mid-green foliage. The flowers are great for attracting birds, which rely on the autumn nectar for food. It typically grows to 5 m tall and 2.5 m wide, through can be contained with trimming as necessary. It grows best when planted in full sun position on a well-drained site. While it is hardy to moderate frost, dry periods, and coastal environments, some protection while it establishes will produce a much better specimen. Banksia aemula is a fantastic plant for mixed plantings, coastal gardens, and for bringing both colour and wildlife into the garden.
