Bambusa multiplex Golden Goddess is a variety of Bamboo grown for its colourful, golden stems and graceful, dark green, fern-like foliage. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 1 m wide and responds well to trimming which keeps it looking fresh and contains growth. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will grow on a wide range of soil types, except extreme wet or dry, and will tolerate moderate frost and coastal conditions but should be protected while it is establishing. Bambusa Golden Goddess is commonly planted for privacy screening, grown as a backdrop for smaller plants, used as an informal hedge, included in a courtyard garden, or maintained in a container.
