“Splendours Variegated” is a variety of Azalea grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of showy, semi-double, soft pink flowers from late winter through spring. The foliage is variegated cream and green. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in a semi-shade or full sun position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. Plants are tolerant of frost and cold environments but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising avoid using lime as this will stunt plants. “Splendours Variegated” is a great choice for container growing, planting around larger trees and shrubs, or using anywhere a stunning plant is required. Cluster planting one cultivar with another cultivar is very trendy and gives a tremendous display.
