Azalea Princess Sonya is grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of small and showy, semi-double, crisp white flowers through spring. It typically grows to 70 cm tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in a semi-shade or full sun position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. It is tolerant of moderate frost and coastal environments but intolerant of lime which can cause serious damage to plants and even death. Azalea Princess Sonya makes a fantastic addition to a mixed or border planting, and is great for providing a splash of colour to a garden. It suits being planted around outdoor living areas, growing in a container, and also being mass planted. This is a rewarding plant that is low maintenance and easy to grow.
