Azalea Mount Saint Helens is grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, deciduous shrub produces masses of strawberry pink flowers with a strong orange flare from winter until late spring. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in a semi-shade or full sun position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. Plants are tolerant of frost and cold environments but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt plants. Azalea Mount Saint Helens is a great choice for container growing, planting under trees and shrubs, or planting anywhere a stunning plant is required.
